Spotlight: Daniel Seavey

When I think about it, I realize that I've known about Daniel Seavey for a long time.

I first discovered a band he was in called Why Don't We in 2018 while I was looking at a page on Wikipedia that shows a list of albums that were going to be released that year.

I remember loving the cover art to "8 Letters" and listening to it, but what really caught my attention was their cover of "Lucid Dreams" by Juice WRLD for the Spotify Sessions series.

I remember when "The Good Times and the Bad Ones" came out and then time started passing fast because I was in college at the time and I was listening to so much music while I was studying and that was why I made a lot of playlists so I could revisit what I was listening to.

Fast forward to 2024 when I was on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist and I saw "Gateway Drug" and I loved it.

Back in April, I saw a notification on Spotify that Daniel Seavey released new music. This was when "Time To Time (Annie)" came out.

Something weird that happens to me is that I forget where I know Daniel Seavey from but I always find my way back to him. In April, I asked myself, "Where do I know this guy from?" and I looked it up and it made me remember Why Don't We which is what made me realize that I've known about him for a long time...8 years to be exact.

I wanted to share how I discovered him with my readers as well as some information about him to help promote him and his music.

Daniel Seavey is a multi-platinum singer/songwriter and producer that has spent the past decade perfecting his craft, kicking off his solo chapter at his brightest, boldest, and most brilliant.

His 2025 full-length solo debut album Second Wind (executive produced by chart-topping writer/producer Michael Pollack) made a splash, showcasing his extraordinary songwriting sensibility as well as that long-beloved voice. Meanwhile the past year saw Seavey command some of the biggest stages of his solo career, including a festival debut set at Lollapalooza, opening for Benson Boone’s Fireworks and Rollerblades world tour & his own solo international headline Second Wind Tour.

Now ahead of his highly-anticipated sophomore album era, Seavey has accumulated nearly 6 million followers across his social platforms and nearly 300 million global streams on his music. He kicked off the summer by opening for Charlie Puth at arenas like Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum, and he released the first taste of the new project with standout singles “Time to Time (Annie)” and “Love’s a Gun.”

In 2016, Seavey co-founded Why Don’t We and embarked upon an unbelievable six-year journey highlighted by over 6 billion global career streams, two RIAA Platinum-certified singles, five RIAA Gold-certified singles, two Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold out tours. His debut solo EP, 2023’s Dancing In The Dark, sparked his creative independence, with Rolling Stone praising Seavey for his “impeccable production skills, stellar vocals, and personal artistry.”

He has also officially announced "Daniel Seavey Live on Loop" with 2 shows in LA and 2 shows in NYC. Daniel uses his looper pedal every time he hits the stage whether it’s to play his own songs or cover other songs. But now, it’s time for him to play some unique shows with just his looper pedal.

These special shows will take place at the Blue Note locations in LA and NYC. On June 28, he will hit the stage in LA for 2 shows, one at 7:00 pm and another at 9:30 pm. A few days later, on July 2, it is NYC’s turn to experience this event, with the first show being at 8:00 pm and the next being at 10:30 pm, and as of today, all four shows are sold out!
