2025 marks 18 years of Record Store Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the culture of the independent record store. It brings fans, artists and thousands of record stores all around the world. There is a list of exclusive releases that are pressed in limited quantities.
2025's RSD ambassador is Post Malone.
This year, the list has 350+ releases and I wanted to share a few of my favorite releases for RSD 2025.
Cop Shoot Cop - Consumer Revolt
For the first time ever, a Cop Shoot Cop album is being released for Record Store Day. This is the first pressing of their 1990 debut album since the 1992 Big Cat pressing. Limited to 800 copies, pressed on blue vinyl and it has an inner bag with lyrics.
The Mission - Neverland
The fifth studio album by the British goth pioneers celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025. For Record Store Day, Demon Records presents an expanded 2LP version of the original album that includes unreleased rarities including B-sides & live tracks. Limited to 1000 copies and pressed on 140 gram translucent red vinyl.
Anderson .Paak - Come Down
Anderson .Paak’s classic “Come Down” sees its first-ever release as a 7" single! This exclusive 45 for Record Store Day 2025 pairs the iconic, bass-thumping studio version with several other versions and features all new art. Limited to 1500 copies.
Russell-Guns - Medusa
The last recording from Jack Russell of Great White before his death in August 2024, available for this first time on vinyl. Limited to 500 copies.
Saxon - Wheels Of Steel
Wheels Of Steel celebrates its 45th anniversary. This expanded edition of Saxon’s seminal album includes a bonus live album recorded at the Donington Monsters of Rock festival in 1980, which has never been available on vinyl. Limited to 900 copies, and it's a 2-album set pressed on red and blue color vinyl.
The Struts - Rock N' Roll Fantasy
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of rock icons Bad Company, a band-sanctioned and first ever tribute to the group is set for release this Fall 2025. Limited to 1000 copies and pressed on white vinyl.
Teenage Bottlerocket - Total
20 years ago this record put Teenage Bottlerocket on the map. For RSD 2025, it’s finally back! Limited to 1000 copies and it's pressed on color vinyl and it has a bonus track!
Tom Waits - Get Behind the Mule
A previously unheard rendition of the song “Get Behind The Mule” has been released. In this alternate take of the album's iconic track, Waits' gospel moans resonate with raw emotion, accompanied only by a gritty Wurlitzer. This stripped-down rendition amplifies the dark narrative of murder and perseverance, with the lyrics even slightly altered, rendering it with an even starker intensity than the original LP version. Limited to 3000 copies.
