Interview: Electric Haze

1: How did you decide on the name, “Electric Haze"?
Democracy is something that characterizes the band in everything, you might say. When it was time to come up with a name for the band,  we had a regular voting, where everyone had the opportunity to leave their suggestions. Most of the suggestions had something to do with ”electric”, possibly due to that Imperial State Electric were popular at the time and they had quite a cool band name! At the end of the line it stood between Electric Pony, Electric Wizard and Electric Haze.

2: What inspires you to create?
Pretty much anything, to be honest. The lyrics do often deal with depression, anxiety or being estranged and misunderstood.
The music is very inspired by classic rock.

3: What advice would you give to someone who wants to be in a creative profession?
Make sure to do the stuff that makes you happy and just keep on doing it.
Make sure that the people around you knows what you're doing and that you're loving it. That makes it more likely that they will help you.

4: Do you feel open minded about what you listen to? Do you like going out of your comfort zone?
We are quite open minded about music and we are not afraid to involve parts that aren't necessary hard rock into our songs. It can be  souly, poppy or jazzy parts that we like and they also have a place in our songs and we think it's fun to think and play outside the box   sometimes.

5: What outlets do you find out about music from? (Record stores, magazines, samplers, etc.)
We find out about new music and music news mostly from friends, other musicians, social media and streaming services. We still like to go to record stores as well - and we definitely look forward to being able to find new acts playing live again!

6: What was the inspiration for your song “Get In Line”?
Get In Line is a hard rock song drawing inspiration from 70's classic hard rock and 90's rock activism. We thought about writing a song with a lot of dynamics, while still pushing it to the limits. The verses are quite aggressive and confident, while the pre-choruses are more withdrawn and convey suspiciousness. Lyrically, Get In Line deals with a set of gloomy images related to loneliness, alcohol consumption, and anxiety that explodes  in  the aggressive and more confident chorus: “You wanna’ see what I can do?!” Get In Line is the third single leading up to our upcoming album with the same title - coming soon!
