Danny Golden is an emerging artist based in Austin, Texas. He is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who creates with an adventurous spirit.
He has recently toured nationally with his band and performed alongside artists such as Shakey Graves, David Ramirez, Rob Baird, Matthew Logan Vasquez (of Delta Spirit) and more. His work has been featured in Billboard, NPR Austin, NBC Austin, Under The Radar, mxdwn and more.
“The Big Blue” began taking shape in the spring of 2022 which was the early days of Golden’s sobriety. That story quickly expanded into a wider narrative of love, loss, and growth. In the summer of 2024, with a notebook full of song sketches from his last 2 years, Golden took a solo pilgrimage to Leonard Cohen’s house in Greece. It was while wandering the Greek islands, reading mythology, that he began to see the vision of how to connect these sketches and ideas into the album he needed to make.
“The Big Blue” is a chronicle of letting go, tracing the path from personal collapse to breakthrough, and of the treasures found along the way.
