Published on 14 May 2026 at 10:15

The last time a new album was released by Social Distortion was on January 18, 2011. Since then, a lot of things have happened in the Social Distortion camp. After "Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes" was released, Mike Ness stated that he didn't want there to be long gaps between Social Distortion albums.

In 2012, Mike Ness said that Social Distortion was going to start recording their next album in January 2013, and it was going to be released in 2016. In 2023, Mike Ness announced that he was diagnosed with Stage One tonsil cancer so more time passed as he wanted to recover before releasing the new music.

On February 23, 2026, a video was shared announcing that new Social Distortion music was on the way. Three singles preceded the release of the album, "Born to Kill" on 2/25/26, "Partners in Crime" on 4/9/26, and "The Way Things Were" on 5/6/26.

Their latest album was released on May 8th, 2026. It was released on vinyl in a variety of colors including opaque red, yellow with black splatter, clear with pink and yellow splatter, pink and black a-side and b-side, leopard spots, leopard print splatter, LA river green, Gibson gold, green and white splash, violet, pink with heavy black splatter, frosted translucent pink. It was also released in picture disc form as a blue picture disc and a pink picture disc. It is also available on CD.
