Spotlight: Jerry Honigman

I discovered Jerry Honigman when I discovered The Romeos on a Columbia Records sampler called "Breaking The Rules". I remember hearing "Tell Me, What I Can Do" and it blew me away. My only thought was "What is this?" and I wanted to hear more...luckily, "Seriously Affected (Rock & Roll & Love & Death)" was on that compilation too.

For the longest time, that was the only Romeos songs I had on vinyl because their debut album was a super hard one for me to find. After a few years of searching, I was able to get a white label promo copy from The Record Parlour's eBay store. I was so happy when I got the full album and I couldn't wait to hear all the songs I didn't know.

Eventually, I went on Discogs to do research on what other music the members of The Romeos were involved with. I learned that Jerry released numerous solo CDs of recordings he did through the years, as well as the rare independent, vinyl only release called "The Shotgun Record".

I did some research and found Jerry on Facebook and I couldn't resist expressing my feelings on The Romeos to him. I'm proud to call him my friend and I'm happy that I have a platform where I can promote his music because he's got so many awesome songs that should be heard.

I've made a playlist of my favorite tunes by him for my readers to check out so please give it a listen. These are songs you need to hear.
