
Mother May I is a power pop/rock band that was active from 1990 to 2001. They reunited in 2010 for a reunion show. They recently reformed in 2023 to release their first album in 24 years called "People Just Wanna Hear The Hits".
They debuted with a clear vinyl 45 of "Birthday Wish" and "In A Box" in 1992. They released an EP called "Use Your Appetite For Spaghetti" on Crackpot Records in 1994.
Soon after this, they were signed to Columbia and released their debut album, "Splitsville" in 1994. Their second album was released on SAM Records in 1999 and was called "33 1/3".
The two members that have been in every lineup has always been Damon Hennessey and Robert LeBourdais. They have had numerous bass players including Peter Gilstrap, David O'Brien, David Swafford, and Lars Gustaffson. Mike Harvey and Les Doerfler also played guitar for them.
