I discovered Slammin' Gladys while going through promo posters with my dad. They were one of many bands I discovered while unrolling posters! Some of the others were Fight, Nudeswirl, Bang Tango, and Love/Hate!
It was a long time before I burned a copy of this album to listen to because I remember listening to it a long time ago and liking it, but not loving it. I decided to relisten to it and I really enjoyed it, and I think part of why I've wanted to check out these bands is because I know that a lot of them weren't promoted because of the rise of grunge.
Knowing this information makes me want to listen to these bands because it was a record label's choice to promote one band and not promote another.
Every artist deserves a listen. Slammin' Gladys is one of those many bands. They are rock, funk, and they are fantastic.
