Like many bands I love, I discovered them because of my dad. I remember discovering Grand Funk when my dad let me borrow their albums from his record collection, and they've always been a band I've liked but never stayed into but whenever I rediscovered them, I always loved what I heard.
As I've gotten older, I've realized that Grand Funk is a very talented band, but they are overlooked by many. They are known for their hit songs, but I know very few people who know lesser known songs like Black Licorice and Please Me.
They are a band that is full of passion, and you really hear how talented they are on the live album. All that is is three guys and their instruments and it's phenomenal.
