V*A*S*E is a grunge/punk/hard rock quintet from Brighton, Michigan. Made up of vocalist Christian Thibodeau, guitarists J.T. Jasinski and Drew Kussmaul, bassist Derian Parsons, and drummer Elijah Simmons.
"Fired and Free" is a tune that gets the attention of the listener because of how it builds. Everything happening in this song feels like that feeling of stress, something that builds until you can't handle it anymore. Then, at the 2 minute mark, there's a change of direction.
It feels like you're no longer under that pressure, and something has been unleashed. You're done holding back, you're finally free.
