5 Years Of Generation Clash

Published on 27 March 2024 at 08:05

On March 27, 2019, I created Generation Clash. This happened because I asked myself how I could use my knowledge of music because I know a lot but I wasn't sure what I could do with that knowledge. Then I had an idea where I could write about the music I love. I've always felt that there's a lot of music I listen to that I don't see other people talking about. I'm not talking about a few artists, a lot of what I listen to I never see other people talking about.

The artists that inspired me to start Generation Clash are Nantucket and City Boy. They are both bands that I discovered in record stores that blew me away when I listened to them. GenClash hasn't only been a way for me to talk about my favorite artists, it's been a way for me to share my discoveries of newer and older artists from a variety of sources ranging from Discogs, books, Instagram, Facebook, and record stores.

I try to post a variety of artists and if I do post about the same artist more than once, I spread the posts out because I don't want to be the person that only writes about one artist. It's my outlet and I can do whatever I want, but I want to promote a number of artists rather than one. I'm talking about all eras and genres.

I've written about so many artists both new and old ranging from Starz, Ready the Prince, Walk The West, Micky James, Rock City Angels, BRKN LOVE, The Godz, Cosmo Topper, L.A. Guns, Waysted, Scarlett Kenny, Mother May I, Pan Arcadia, Frankie Miller, and more.

Thank you to everyone who has read a post, shared a post, listened to a playlist and who has submitted music to us and recommended music to us!
