1: What inspires you to create?

There is a fire that burns inside me. Real life struggles and memories and moments, whether good or bad or in between. I just love and appreciate the fact that I’ve been given a gift from god and it allows me to connect and communicate with souls from every walk of life. I love making people feel something inside. I love telling a story. The desire to be heard inspires me.

2: What advice would you give to someone who wants to be in a creative profession?

Be prepared to grind. Believe in yourself at all times. Don’t let outsiders grind you down. And give 'em hell at all times. And stay ready because you never know when your moment may come.

3: Do you feel open minded about what you listen to? Do you like going out of your comfort zone?

I am very open minded.. to good, real music that comes from the soul. I love all music as long as it’s real. I do like stepping out of the comfort zone. It’s an opportunity for growth.

4: What outlets do you find out about music from? (Record stores, magazines, samplers, etc.)

You gotta really dig to find some good new shit. I find a lot of music through Spotify and Instagram, honestly. The radio doesn’t offer too much these days.

5: What is your favorite format to listen to music on? (CD, Vinyl, etc.)

Vinyl baby. There’s nothin' like Appetite for Destruction played on 10 on classic vinyl.

6: How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?

It’s a blessing and a curse. Everything is so accessible but you’ve got to really find a way to stand apart from the crowd these days. I don’t mind the internet, it’s easier to quickly find new music if you know where to look.

7: Who was the first band/artist that became your favorite band?

Guns N' Roses.

8: What qualities do you think make a good musician?

The ability to play what’s needed for the song. Not overplaying. Soul. Ability to adapt and play with others. Confidence. Knowing to when to really rip and when to lay back. A good fuckin' ear. Willing to really take time for your craft.

9: Do you have any hobbies outside of music?

I love playin Texas Hold Em poker. I love golf. I love to fish too. Being with my boys too, just getting into shit and raisin' a little hell is always fun.

10: What was the inspiration for your song “Only Want U 4 U”?

An old flame. Wanting someone for who they are and nothing else. Not for their money or car. Just the real person.
