The debut album by The Godz is superb!!

An album with fantastic tunes like Go Away, Baby I Love You, Under The Table and a cover of Candy's Going Bad by Golden Earring.

They were one of the many unique rock bands from the 1970s, a time period when bands didn't imitate other bands. They weren't afraid to be unique.

I think a band like The Godz is great because they weren't afraid to be unique. Bands that are unique are the ones that don't get signed to a record label because if you aren't following trends and making music that sounds like what is popular, then a label doesn't need to sign you. They only want to sign you when they can make money.

This was the case with The Godz. They were signed to a label called Millenium, which was a subsidiary label of Casablanca, and eventually sold to RCA. The reason these labels exist is if the record label isn't sure if an artist is going to sell records, they are signed to the subsidiary label and if they don't sell records, then they are dropped and it becomes a write off. The label should be promoting any band that they sign, because it is the job of a label to promote an artist.

Essential Tracks: Baby I Love You, Under The Table, Gotta Keep A Runnin'
