Ministry Of Madness is an excellent album. It showcases different musical styles and it features tunes that discuss topics like depression and toxic relationships. We got to hear the album early, and we love it...and it's out today, so you get to hear it!!

We spoke with Cody about the inspiration for his tunes, "Who You Are" and "Benz", how he discovers new music, how he feels that the internet has impacted the music industry much more.

---

1: What inspires you to create?

Everything, from songs I hear, to little things people say on the street. A lot of this new album I gathered lyric ideas and narratives from reading ancient history books.

2: What advice would you give to someone who wants to be in a creative profession?

Don’t create for anyone but yourself. Master your craft and do what feels best to you. Write about things that matter to you.. That’s what brings success. At least that’s what I hear.

3: Do you feel open minded about what you listen to? Do you like going out of your comfort zone?

I’m always looking for something out of my comfort zone.

4: What outlets do you find out about music from? (Record stores, magazines, samplers, etc.)

The internet lol… I love record shops but if it wasn’t for the internet I would know about half the bands I know and love.

5: What is your favorite format to listen to music on? (CD, Vinyl, etc.)

Vinyl, there just something special about opening it, carefully taking it out of the cover and placing on table, setting the needle down perfectly…   You have to commit to listening to it as well. In the mornings I usually put on a vinyl and there’s a good coupon minutes where I thoroughly scour over my collection and decide what is going to fit/influence my mood and morning best.

6: How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?

Good and bad. Can’t complain but I still do.

7: Who was the first band/artist that became your favorite band?

The first CD I ever had came from my older sister Tiffani for Christmas.  It was “Cake, Fashion Nugget”, I still know every word to every song to this day.

8: If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

Alive: Lenny Kravitz

Past: Jimi Hendrix

9: Do you have any hobbies outside of music?

Cycling, and being a plant dad.

10: What was the inspiration for your song “Who You Are”?

Just love,  love was my inspiration. Loving someone for who they are.

11: What was the inspiration for your song “Benz”?

Dating a woman who cared more about materialistic things than she did being a good person.
